Biography
Frank Avignone has completed his PhD in physics in the year of 1965 from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is the Carolina Endowed Professor of Physics and Astronomy at University of South Carolina. He joined the faculty at the University of South Carolina in 1965; and served as chairman of the Department of Physics and Astronomy until 1998 when he retired and was appointed as the first Carolina Endowed Professor at USC. Frank T. Avignone III is the recipient of the 2008 CNTA Distinguished Scientist Award.
Research Interest
Research interests include a variety of topics in Particle Astrophysics and Cold Dark Matter.
